Wednesday, December 24, 2008, 10:30 AM I'm backkk!!!!!!!!.. after more den a week.. it feels great to be back home.. ok.. so here is an update of what happened in Hawaii for the week. well.. here goes.. day 1, sat is just mostly me and me family flying to Hawaii.. had to stop over at taipei, den at japan before reaching Oahu.. in total.. a 13 hours flight. totally boring.. at least we got there safe.. day 2, sat was basically reahcing there.. checking into the hotel, unpacking.. and goin to visit the Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbour, the USS Missouri and the USS Bowfin. now i noe u'll be asking.. wait.. if i flew there on a sat.. how come its still a sat on my day 2.. rite?? cos i crossed the international date line.. which means i go back a day.. makin it sat again.. rite.. so after visiting the memorial, the battleship and the sub.. we headed back to the hotel.. Queen Kapiolani...den out for dinner and of course.. shopping.. day 3, sun was spent on the beach tanning and boogie boarding.. but it rained.. so back to the hotel we went.. headed out for dinner and spent the rest of the time shopping.. day 4, mon was spent snorkelling at Hanauma Bay.. its seriously beautiful.. its created due to volcanic eruptions and due to change in tides and stuff like tht.. thts how the bay was formed.. so snorkelled among the reefs.. saw fishes.. but didn see any turtles or other things.. and dont ask what fish i saw.. i just saw fish shapes.. cnt see anything else w/o my specs.. bleahs.. sadd luh.. o well..headed back to the hotel.. bathe.. had dinner and shopped again.. day 5, tues was spent shopping.. uh huh.. but the bus ride was seriously a long one.. more den 2 over hours just to get the the shopping area.. at least we did buy something there.. if not.. yeah.. things there are seriously cheap... can get Hilfiger hoodie for like US$30+ with discounts.. coach handbags and stuff for like.. US$150+ w discounts.. seriously a shopping haven for any shoppaholic.. hahaha.. and in s'pore.. no way can u get prices like this.. and if u wna noe how much all those stuff cost.. just divide the price by 2 and add the ans to the original price.. cos the exchange rate is US$1 is to S$1.5 day 6, wed was spent on goin around the island.. but not before climbing up diamond head.. a crater of an extinct volcano.. its reali a cool thing.. and the scenery was.. wow... den stopped by a blowhole.. where u can see water getting shot out of the hole.. something like a geyser ( sry if spelling is wrong), visited the Sea Life Park.. its small.. but it was nice.. saw loads of other scenic views on the way away and to the hotel.. day 7, thurs was spent goin around the island again.. but this time to more places as compared to wed.. saw some same things again.. but also visited a pineapple plantation, Sunset beach and other things.. its seriously a nice experience to get to see all this places.. and we saw ppl filming a show.. if im not wrong.. its the series Lost.. so now u noe where they are getting lost at.. haha there were also many other movies tht were filmed in Oahu.. so its cool tht we also got to see the place tht were shown in the movies.. day 8, fri was spent at the Polynesian Cultural Centre.. its a place tht showed the culture of all the polynesian islands which were Hawaii, Samoa, Tahiti, Tonga, New Zealand and Fiji.. its reali a cultural experience for me.. learning the way the lived.. and survived.. also watched a show titled Horizons, which was done by students.. ooo.. btw, did u noe that the Polynesian cultural centre is mostly run by students studying at the nearby university? so its reali a good thing as they have a job which pays off their fees.. cool.. hahaha.. hmmmm.. after tht went back to the hotel.. day 9, sat was spent tanning again and shoppin again.. and packin up for thr trip back home.. day 10, sun/mon.. flew back home.. passed international date line.. so lost the one extra day gained when i flew there.. thts why its monday.. sheesh.. long haul flights can reali kill u.. okok.. so tht wld be the summary of my trip to hawaii.. will post up the picts when the picts are uploaded into the computer. till den .. bye..
